How does a secondary SENCO find resources that will really make a difference?

Finding material that provides a different approach for students of lower ability can prove tricky.

SENCOs, more than anyone, know that an alternative approach is needed to support those students who haven’t yet reached the expected standard of reading and writing at secondary school; those who need some fresh, creative approaches.

To support secondary SENCOs we’ve put together a Thinking Child Support Package of resources:

The Literacy Box – over 200 fun ideas for developing aspects of literacy.
The Numeracy Box – 80 active games and activities.
It’s a Case of Grammar – Over 100 Ideas for teaching particular aspects of grammar in interactive ways.
Let’s Think Homework – short activities to develop a variety of thinking skills and learning dispositions.
Outdoor Literacy Folder – Over 100 Ideas for teaching literacy outside.
Outdoo r Numeracy Ideas – including ideas for maths trails.

Although Thinking Child materials are packaged for primary schools they are totally flexible, able to be used with large or small groups and 1:1 learning situations.

All the resource listed here would retail for £513 but until the end of November – SENCOs in a secondary school can buy them as a Full Support Package for just £450 (+VAT) .

Visit the website to download samples and judge for yourself the possibilities of using our resources.
